Boxster/996 Underdrive Pulley
When Boxsters are subjected to sustained high RPM’s, the power steering fluid becomes extremely hot and can even melt the plastic fluid reservoir causing a dangerous fluid leak near the rear tires. The Boxster Spec rules allow an underdrive crank pulley to solve this dangerous problem. The new smaller pulley slows down the accessories on the engine which keeps the fluid cool and also has the added benefits of reduced rotating mass, and drag on the engine (more horsepower). The Precision Chassis Works pulley conforms to the class rule which calls for a minimum diameter of 4”. It is CNC machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and anodized for durability. These pulleys also work on other M96 engines (996/Boxster "S") and are available for vehicles with or without A/C compressor
